Gardens of Devon
The lush green pastures and dramatic moors of Devon provide the attractive backdrop to our tour of gardens large and small – some famous, others privately owned and less well-known.
We begin at the gardens of Hestercombe in the hills above Taunton, a unique combination of three centuries of garden including the stunning Edwardian garden designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll. Of course we could not come to Devon without visiting RHS Garden Rosemoor, which is world famous for its roses and lies in the heart of the Devon countryside. Nearby are the wonderful private gardens of Marwood Hill, with an equally impressive collection of plants. We travel down to Killerton, with its countless trees and sparking rock garden, and further still to The Garden House, a romantic and richly-planted garden. The small private garden of Holbrook and the great Gothic Revival house and gardens of Knightshayes Court round off a richly endowed tour.
