Summary

Artistic highlights of this stimulating tour include Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s unique House for an Art Lover and his finest domestic creation Hill House, also undergoing extensive restoration work and currently encased in a steel-mesh box. We visit the expertly curated Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and Glenarn, arguably the finest woodland garden in Scotland.

Re-opening after an ambitious refurbishment of Glasgow’s Burrell Collection will allow visitors for the first time to explore all three floors in the building, set out as galleries, visible stores and special exhibtion spaces. This incredible collection holds treasures from all over the world, including 5,000 year-old porcelain from China, paintings by renowned French artists including Manet, Cézanne and Degas and medieval artefacts such as stained glass, armour and tapestries.

We are joined by painter, writer and broadcaster Lachlan Goudie who will give us his own insights on Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
