After a thrilling sellout tour in 2022, gardening guru Monty Don is heading back out on tour where he will share tales from his career in gardening, detail his favourite gardens – both ancient and modern, and reveal how he fell in love with the natural world. Discover how he created his beautiful garden at Longmeadow, the gardening practices he considers to be the most useful and important, and the magical impact of the changing of the seasons on each part of the garden.
This short break also includes a visit to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, which boast extensive glasshouses meaning they can be enjoyed whatever the weather. We then visit the Black Country Living Museum, a chance to experience the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the Black Country as we explore shops, houses and industrial workshops rebuilt in a canalside village.

Day by Day Itinerary
Depart from London, Luton and Northampton for Birmingham, where on arrival we visit the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The gardens boast extensive glasshouses which means they can be enjoyed whatever the weather. With Tropical, Subtropical, Mediterranean and Arid environments there is a huge range of plants to be discovered, with Poinsettia and Christmas Cacti among the seasonal highlights. Weather permitting, we may also enjoy some of the outdoor features, where cyclamen and winter aconites may be found.
We continue to our hotel, where an early dinner is served. We then transfer to the Symphony Hall for An Audience with Monty Don. One of the nation’s favourite TV gardeners, Monty will share tales from his long career in gardening, tell us about his favourite gardens and reveal how he fell in love with the natural world. We will discover how he created his beloved garden at Longmeadow, the gardening practices he considers to be the most useful, and the importance of the changing of the seasons on each part of the garden.
