
Tom Horne
Dr Tom Horne read Ancient and Modern History at Balliol College, University of Oxford, before working as a researcher for BBC history documentaries.
He was awarded an MLitt. (Distinction) in Medieval Archaeology and a Ph.D. in Viking trade and exchange networks from the University of Glasgow, and continues to write for academia, including his Routledge monograph, 'A Viking Market Kingdom in Ireland and Britain'. He was also a co-editor of 'The Viking Age in Scotland' for Edinburgh University Press.
Currently working as a freelance author, historical consultant, and as a Museum Assistant at the Govan Stones, Tom has also worked on archaeological projects from Shetland to Ukraine, excavating and surveying at prehistoric, Roman, early medieval, and WW2 sites.
