Day by Day Itinerary
Fullers Mill Garden
We depart from our designated pick-up points and begin our journey to East Anglia, heading first to Fullers Mill Garden, a seven-acre oasis set on the banks of the River Lark. Created over fifty years ago by the late Bernard Tickner MBE, this enchanting garden is now managed by the horticultural charity Perennial and offers a masterclass in planting for structure, texture and seasonality. Shaded woodland walks, sun-dappled glades and waterside borders brim with interest – there’s something to admire in every corner, from rare shrubs and perennials to clever combinations of colour and form.
We continue to the city of Norwich, where we enjoy an exclusive, by-appointment visit to the Bishop’s House Garden, a true hidden gem tucked behind the cathedral. This private garden has evolved over 900 years and offers ten acres of rich planting, ancient trees, herbaceous borders, a wildflower labyrinth and a serene rose garden. Rarely open to the public, our visit here is a privileged glimpse into one of Norfolk’s most atmospheric and historically significant gardens. Later, we check into our hotel, where we enjoy dinner.
