Snowdrops of East Yorkshire

Snowdrops of East Yorkshire

Summary

Symbolising new beginnings, hope and the arrival of spring, charming snowdrops are a truly welcome sight after the long winter months. While the rest of nature remains asleep, these delicate flowers are among the first blooms to emerge from the cold winter soil, creating lovely backdrops to revitalising strolls across the country. On this uplifting tour, we focus on scenic East Yorkshire, visiting a number of award-winning gardens as well as the spectacular city of York itself with its fascinating relics of the past. Highlights include Burnby Hall Gardens, winner of Yorkshire in Bloom Gold Award on seven consecutive occasions, Sledmere House, where the delightful Galanthus trail frames one of the region's finest country houses beautifully, as well as a memorable walk along the Hutton Cranswick Circular, where blankets of snowdrops cover the beautiful countryside.
