Day by Day Itinerary

Depart from London, Reading, Swindon and Bristol for the National Botanic Garden of Wales, in the exquisite location of a 568-acre estate in the heart of Carmarthenshire. Among the innovative and informative features here is the Great Greenhouse, which means the gardens can be enjoyed whatever the weather. This is the largest single span glasshouse in the world, focusing on temperate species, many of them endangered. Weather permitting, we may also enjoy other features such as the oval walled garden, the water discovery centre and the herbaceous boardwalk.

We continue to our hotel, where an early dinner is served. We then transfer to the Swansea Arena for An Audience with Monty Don. One of the nation’s favourite TV gardeners, Monty will share tales from his long career in gardening, tell us about his favourite gardens and reveal how he fell in love with the natural world. We will discover how he created his beloved garden at Longmeadow, the gardening practices he considers to be the most useful, and the importance of the changing of the seasons on each part of the garden.
