Summary

Discover the charming historical houses and castles of the Cotswolds on this delightful four-day tour. As we wind our way through the rural rolling hills and medieval villages sprinkled with thatched cottages, it is easy to see why this quaint corner is one of England’s most visited destinations.

Our tour of the Cotswolds includes visits to some of the area’s most fascinating historic houses including the iconic Blenheim Palace. The palace, a World Heritage Site is home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family. The estate is steeped in over 300 years of history and is notable in more recent history as the birthplace and home of Sir Winston Churchill.

Continuing westwards, our visits include Chavenage House an Elizabethan Manor house constructed of local Cotswold stone and featured in the BBC’s ‘Poldark’. We also enjoy a stop at Sudeley Castle & Gardens, a Grade 1 listed castle nestled in the Gloucestershire countryside close to the medieval market town of Winchcombe, as well as the National Trust properties of Snowshill Manor and Gardens, a 16th century country house, and Hidcote Manor and Gardens, which has in the past been featured in the top ten ‘Great British Gardens’ in England.

The final estate on our tour of the Cotswolds rests in a peaceful corner of Buckinghamshire. Now owned by the National Trust, Waddesdon Manor is a Grade 1 listed house which was built in the late 19th century by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in an extravagant Neo-Renaissance style.
