Thursday 24 December 2009 – Christmas Eve
We depart from your local pick-up point and head into the Borders, breaking our journey at Peebles, a peaceful little town on the banks of the River Tweed. In the afternoon we continue to our hotel, the luxurious Cardrona Hotel, Golf and Country Club, just three miles to the east of Peebles, also set on the River Tweed which winds its leisurely way through the rolling hills of Tweeddale. We are welcomed on arrival with shortbread and a reviving glass of malt whisky.
Following dinner there will be a drinks reception followed by Christmas carols with the hotel staff.
Friday 25 December 2009 – Christmas Day
The day gets off to a festive start with a glass of Buck’s Fizz with breakfast. The morning is free to relax or perhaps take a stroll by the river to sharpen your appetite for the feasting to come. A traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings follows and after the Queen’s Speech you are free to use the leisure facilities, read your new book or even succumb to a postprandial nap, whichever is your preference.
A buffet supper is served this evening.
Saturday 26 December 2009 – Boxing Day
After breakfast we depart on a scenic coach tour of the Border country, which will see us visiting the delightful towns of Moffat, Galashiels and Melrose. Alternatively for those who would prefer to relax around the hotel we shall be offering you the option to book some spa treatments or for golfers the option to enjoy a bracing round of winter golf (subject to weather and availability).
Dinner is served this evening back at the hotel.
Sunday 27 December 2009
Enjoy your breakfast. Sadly it is time to leave Cardrona today as we head for home, with arrival due at our original departure points during the afternoon.
